Linton & Bordley/Gildersome
Supposedly Long, but short walk. 09/02/2020
Idiots that walked: - Ian, Andy Bell, David Harrison, Laurie & John Hamlin who led. Oh yes and Ciara came along as well! All week the weather forecasters had been predicting the worst Storm for a million years, so i was not really expecting anyone to turn up for a walk in the Yorkshire Dales. But Morley Walking Club have a few heroes, spelt N-u-t-t-e-r-s and 5 of them were keen (ish). We sensibly decided not to go to the Dales, but instead John took us for a short walk around Gildersome. I am not really sure where we went, or to be honest didn't really care. It chucked it down every minute, the wind was gale force every minute and Ciara was giving us her full bashing. Every path was a river, every field was a swamp & even the road bits were full of flowing water. After a few hours walking, Ciara upped her game and the 5 brave members became wimps and had to admit, the Bitch had beaten us. We discussed the fact that no Ladies had turned up, saying they were soft but in the end they were just not as stupid as us men. Cheers Ian
