The Betty Bellwood Award
Colin has kindly presented the club with “The Betty Bellwood Award” in memory of his dear wife, a founder member of M.W.C. and the welcoming face to all who joined in her time. We presented our very first Betty Bellwood award at our Christmas Dinner Dance, December 2013. Betty was a people person so we thought it would be nice for the members to decide who should receive this award. So we are asking you to nominate someone who you feel has been especially kind and helpful to you and/or to other members of the club.
Morrisons Trolley Award
The Morrisons Trolley award is presented to the leader of a particularly wet or muddy walk or someone who has just committed a bit of a ‘faux pas’ on a walk, such as getting lost!
This was originally awarded following a very wet walk in which one of the club’s walkers was heard to comment “I would have been better off pushing a trolley round Morrisons!”
Report “Log”
Awarded to the writer of the best report of a walk during the year.
This wonderful piece of rustic art was both created and donated by Tom Gomersall.
The Norman Scholes Award
Norman Scholes presented this handsome goblet, to be awarded for services to the club.
