Covid 19 Safety Rules
Although Government rules have been lifted, the virus is still transmittable to and by people who have been fully vaccinated. Therefore, the club asks that walkers abide by the following Safety Rules.
Car Sharing
Car drivers have the right to limit the number of passengers and ask for masks to be worn in their vehicles if they feel uncomfortable with car sharing. Passengers need to check with a driver before asking for lifts.
All Walkers
- You must not walk if you feel unwell or are known to have any infectious disease or have had a positive Covid-19 test
- Leaders will need to continue to take contact details because NHS track and trace is still in operation.
- Please continue to carry hand gel and have a mask available in case of emergencies or if needing to enter any buildings.
- Social distancing is no longer necessary but please take care in confined spaces
Thank you all for following the rules and enabling our walks to continue throughout these difficult times
Things to consider when walking
- Make sure you have suitable clothing and footwear, and carry plenty of refreshments.
- The club’s insurance policy only covers public liability. Arrange your own cover if you want personal accident or holiday cancellation insurance.
- If you are leading a walk make sure that it is not longer or more difficult than you have stated on the published programme.
- Have a shorter version in mind in case the weather deteriorates.
- Take all litter home and leave the picnic area tidy.
- Do not throw stones down hills or into open shafts – you never know who might be below!
- Keep dogs on leads and don’t let them hold up the group when negotiating stiles.
- Check with the walk leader for suitability.
- All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on all walks, as per the constitution.
- Parking Charges; Please note, passengers are kindly asked to share any parking charges with the driver.
If you find any problems on your route eg blocked paths, broken stiles. Please note the location/grid reference and take a photo if possible then report it to www.ramblers.org.uk or Ian Pickering (Footpath Secretary) please notify any member of the committee when you have done so.
Walk Leaders please try and write a short report after walks and send to us along with any amusing photos for inserting onto our website.
Members of Morley walking club: for further information regarding individual walks, please refer to your personal copy of the current walks programme.
Please note: The constitution was amended at the 2018 AGM.
